About This Release

This McMinnville AVA Pinot Noir is a superb example of what’s possible out of Oregon Valley’s premier Pinot Noir AVA’s.  The ’22 J Wrigley Vineyards Pinot Noir is elegant, bright, and energetic.  It is  drinking beautifully now and will age gracefully for another 7-10 years.

The wines from the Willamette Valley 2022 harvest are fantastic across the board.  The winter was long, cold, and wet. A late frost in April made the region reliant on the vines rebounding, and pushing fresh shoots, delaying the harvest by 4-6 weeks. Growers now needed a great summer and warm, dry autumn to make up for the late start... and thankfully, that is exactly what they got! By the time harvest started, the horrors of that April frost seemed a distant memory as pristine fruit was picked from the vines, and spectacular flavor and acidity developed.

The fruit is pure, expressive, rich, and vibrant. There’s plenty of freshness and definition in this wine. The delayed harvest meant that despite the warm weather that persisted into October, and the shorter days and longer cooler nights of late September and early October allowed beautiful acid retention to balance the ripe fruit. The critical acclaim for the vintage bears witness to this; every report published has been bristling with huge scores and glowing praise.

This ’22 J Wrigley Vineyards Pinot Noir is easy to love, supremely accessible, flavorful, and energetic.
